Budget 2012 - HEADLINES
Personal allowance increasing the income tax threshold by £1,100 from April 2013 to £9,205;
40% - tax band From 2013/14 threshold is reduced to £41,450;
Age-related income tax allowances to be removed for new pensioners from April 2013;
Child benefit is to be withdrawn from families where one parent earns more than £60,000;
Top rate of tax reduced to 45p from April 2013;
Stamp duty on properties over £2m is going to increase to 7% and 15% if bought through Ltd companies;
Corporation tax to be cut by an additional 1% this April to 24%. It will be set at 22% by 2014;
Capital allowances tax reliefs capped at 25% in revenue;
Low interest rates to small businesses through the National Loan Guarantee Scheme;
Fuel duty - the planned 3p rise in August will go ahead;
